What did we learn from the finale today HIMYM fandom?
1. Stay away from Facebook.
2. Stay away from Tumblr. But if you can’t, download Tumblr Savior.
3. If you go on the Internet and enter social media sites, it is partly your fault for getting spoiled. The actress was spoiled for me on Twitter, I didn’t whine about it because that was totally my bad.
4. Sure, HIMYM’s FB group needs a time out. And a good slap. But really, just stay away from the Internet next time.
THIS. Agreed. The fandom reared its shallow close-minded head for this episode. Fortunately it seems to be just a small portion of it.
And even if she wasn’t a broadway star, there’s nothing wrong with a generally unknown casting. They did the same for the role of Robin and Cobie was perfect for it and people love her.
I’m sorry you’re unhappy Ted isn’t marrying a Hollywood princess or a supermodel. But give the girl a chance. She’s spoken one line ffs.

How did you keep the whole thing a secret?
THOMAS: In the script we called the character “definitely not the mother,” so it was very good code. We got very CIA and intense about it: We really didn’t put it on paper; we never emailed the outline or the script. We literally just kept it on hard copies of paper that we messengered back and forth to people and then got the copies back and destroyed [them].
BAYS: We had like a whole fake title. The script that we auditioned her from was titled “USC Student Thesis Film.”
THOMAS: Something no one in Hollywood would ever actually read.
BAYS: All the extras from the scene with the mother are staff from How I Met Your Mother. They’re all there. It was really fun.
All that effort, down the drain. Because of their Facebook team.
Can we just think about the lengths Craig Thomas, Carter Bays and their team had to take to keep the mother’s identity a secret?
Then some trigger happy idiot on their Facebook team ruined it.
For shame.
My friend’s been waiting to get back at his sister for spoiling Rose’s return to Series 4 of Doctor Who which he recently started watching.
So today, he printed out a screen cap of the mother and taped it to their front door and she saw it when she got back from school. She hasn’t seen the episode yet.

Does anyone else think that whole “It’s Kristin/Kirstin/Krirstin” thing was the writers’ way of foreshadowing “It’s Cristin Milioti”?
